When I was about 3 or 4 my parents bought me cowboy and Indian outfits for my birthday. As Christmas came around they thought it would be good to get me a rocking horse to complete the set. For some reason there were no rocking horses around that year (1978's answer to the Wii?) so they really struggled. Thankfully at the last minute on Christmas Eve my Dad found a little toy shop out in the sticks that had one. Next morning I came thundering down the stairs with the usual excitement. I went straight for the giant package and tore apart the wrapping paper. They helped me get the rocking horse out of the box and lifted me onto it. I hopped off after two seconds and jumped into the now empty box. I spent pretty much all of Christmas and Boxing Day in the box pretending it was a spaceship. My parents were gutted. Understandably, they refused to get me a real horse a few years later.
